Class Descriptions

All classes are Vinyasa-style, where breath and yoga postures are synchronized in a moving meditation that anchors the mind in the present moment.  Where indicated, levels of experience are suggested but not required.

Yoga Basics
For beginning students.  Principles of alignment, breathing and mindfulness are taught in basic versions of sun salutations and standing poses. Explore side bending, balancing, forward bending, twisting, backward bending and simple inversions and inversion preparations.


After School Yoga
For kids ages 8 to 12, this class offers creative ways to be fit and focused, as well as simple ways to be less stressed. Kids will stretch, breathe, relax and most of all have fun. Discount for 2nd child in family. Class size limited.

Chair Yoga
Especially for those who are not able to sit on the floor, or prefer not to, this class includes simple stretching and strengthening poses and movements practiced while sitting on or standing by a chair. Develop core strength, better balance, improved breathing, poise and greater range of motion. Relaxation techniques will be taught. Especially for seniors and those with limited mobility. All ages welcome.

Core Conditioning

Develop a strong and stable core for freedom of movement and a healthier, happier back. Through strengthening your core muscles, including the abdominal, pelvis, and low back region, you will increase functionality in all activities. All levels welcome.

Family Yoga

For families to have fun doing yoga together. Learn yoga poses to be more fit, flexible, and relaxed. Learn non-competitive yoga games that you can play at home. $12/$15 for drop-ins. Class size limited.

Flow Yoga
Focus on alignment and form, combining movement and breath to create a focused, dynamic, flowing yoga practice. More challenging.

Om-Style Flow
Practice in the tradition of New York’s Om Yoga Center in this intermediate level class. A more vigorous vinyasa class, with strong attention to alignment. Experience flowing sequences of standing poses linked by sun salutations, as well as twists, backbends, seated poses, arm balances and inversions.


Power Yoga
Detoxify your body in this faster paced, energizing class in the Ashtanga Yoga tradition as you move through a series of sun salutations and an array of yoga poses.  Expect to sweat.  Intermediate level recommended.


Gentle Yoga
With a gentle flowing sequence of postures linking breath and movement, this class will help you develop core strength, better balance, improved breathing, poise and greater range of motion. Relaxation techniques will be taught. Especially for beginners. All ages welcome.

Relax and Renew Yoga

A mini yoga class of gentle stretching and strengthening including simple chi gung moves to cultivate energy and yin poses for greater mobility followed by supported poses to deeply calm the nervous system. You will leave this restorative class feeling relaxed and renewed! All levels.

Meditation
Meditation is based on the view that the natural state of mind is calm and clear. It provides a way to train our mind to settle into this state. Our reason for meditating might be that we want some freedom from our agitated mind. Explore ways of reducing stress through mindfulness of body, breath and surroundings.
